Under the Rainbow/1

nervous fear causes water inside to bubble
and exude through a tear
salt taste rolls over lips
mouths are holes for words to come out of
like worms and gophers and
fresh water springs, butterfly wings

on the flag pole a vibrant rainbow ascends
waves
shaves ribbons of pride from the skin of the free
and those
no longer hurt-ing
or at least not in this
present
moment

the gosh mosh slosh stew thats been busy a brew
now shines thru
in a tear coming out into view
coming out
in the Quad of the U
to a friend, parent, or family ear that will accept reject, break and bend
to tend to the reason, the person your ears need to lend
to
you
and her and him and
you

this is one rough poem
one exhale for the lovers cruccified with the hate nail
punctured and broken and bleeding pain

but on her face, a salty tear stain
in this moment, a liberated lesbian refrain

she is you as you are he as he is me is you is we
